2020 Audi A5 Review

Overview
Comes packed with luxury and technology; User-friendly infotainment; Great fuel economy

The Audi A5 lineup is made for people who want a blend of style, functionality, and fun. It can be had in three variations: a coupe, a convertible, or a four-door hatchback. Even though the A5 line has been around since 2008, the second generation began with the 2018 model year and added the new Sportback variant.
What's New for 2020
Trims and Pricing
The Audi A5 is available in three different body styles, a coupe, a convertible, and a sleek four-door hatchback. Each is offered in three trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige.
The Premium Coupe and Sportback start at $42,900 while the Cabriolet starts at $49,900. For a base trim, the Premium variants boast an impressive amount of luxury standard features. These include Audi’s excellent Quattro all-wheel-drive system, LED headlights and taillights, rain-sensing wipers, a power sunroof, forward collision control, and dynamic cruise control. A well-appointed interior includes leather seating surfaces, power-adjustable driver and passenger seats, three-zone automatic climate control, and LED ambient lighting. An all-new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system comes equipped with Bluetooth audio streaming, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
The Premium Plus comes in at $46,700 for the Coupe and Sportback and $53,700 for the Cabriolet. It adds matrix-design LED headlights, proximity keyless entry, auto-dimming/power-folding side mirrors, a digital gauge cluster, wireless phone charger, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic assist, front and rear acoustic parking sensors, leatherette interior trim, and two-setting driver’s seat memory.
The range-topping Prestige begins at $52,600 for the Coupe and Sportback and $59,600 for the Cabriolet. Additional features added include a Bang and Olufsen 3D surround sound system with 19 speakers (20 in the Cabriolet), top-view camera, lane keep assist, automatic parking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, a head-up display, navigation, and adjustable ambient lighting.
Engine and Performance
All of the Audi A5 variants use the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It puts on tap 248 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque. Mated to the engine is a seven-speed S Tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission that can also be manually shifted via the gear selector or steering wheel-mounted paddles. Quattro all-wheel-drive is also standard.
The Audi A5 has four-wheel disc brakes and a 15.3-gallon fuel tank.
Interior
Audi interiors are known for their quality of materials and modern elegant design. The A5 follows suit with four leather colors to choose from or an optional sporty black leather and Alcantara combination for the seats. Decorative inlays can be had in aluminum or wood finishes.
You’ll find Audi keeps the cockpit design on the simple side. And with the new touchscreen display, even fewer buttons and knobs are present. This makes navigating key functions easier while driving, allowing you to stay focused on the road.
Seating space is similar to competitors and the seats are comfortable for longer rides and well-bolstered for taking corners. With the second row folded you are bound to be surprised at what all you can fit into the back of the A5.
