What's New for 2018
Trims and Pricing
Audi makes the Q3 in two trim levels: Premium Plus and Prestige. Standard equipment on the Premium Plus includes a panoramic sunroof, 18-inch wheels, xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, keyless ignition and entry, roof rails, power adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, front seat heaters, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, dual zone automatic climate control, automatic dimming rearview mirror, Bluetooth connectivity, 60/40 split folding rear seat, and a sound system with ten speakers, CD player, satellite radio, and a USB/iPod input port. As for optional equipment on the Premium Plus, there is an MMI Navigation Plus package, which comes with a 7-inch infotainment screen, a Multi Media Interface (MMI) controller, navigation, and voice controls. Buyers can also add the Driver Assistance package, which comes with parking sensors in the front and rear, blind spot monitoring, and a rearview camera. Prestige models come with all of the standard and optional equipment on the Premium Plus, as well as automatic dimming and power folding side mirrors, powered liftgate, Audi Connect mobile WiFi hotspot, stainless steel sill plates, and a Bose sound system with fourteen speakers. Optional equipment includes a Sport package, which comes with paddle shifters, selectable drive modes, and sport seats in the front. Buyers can also option 19-inch wheels. A Q3 comes with a factory invoice of about $34,000 for a Premium Plus model and an MSRP of about $36,000. The Prestige trim level adds about $3,200 to the vehicle’s MSRP. Your Certified Dealer will provide you with a hassle-free shopping experience, plus a straightforward price offer that saves you money, just because you're a member.
Engine and Performance
There is only one engine available for the Audi Q3, a turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 200 horsepower and 207 lb.-ft. of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, along with a six-speed automatic transmission, but all-wheel drive is available on both trim levels. The EPA estimates fuel economy at 20 mpg city, 29 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined, when equipped with front-wheel drive. The Q3 with all-wheel drive ranks at 20 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined.
Interior
Audi has a reputation for excellent cabins, and the interior of the Q3 certainly is not an exception. Buyers can choose three different seat colors: Titanium Gray, Chestnut Brown, and Black. The panels on the doors coordinate with the seats, while the rest of the interior has either an all-black color scheme, with the Black and Chestnut Brown leather options, or a two-tone look. The overall look and feel of the interior should be familiar to anyone who has been inside an Audi in the past few years. The surfaces are soft and textured, while the overall fit and finish is excellent. Instead of an interior that matches the SUV feel, Audi has gone for a setup that is more like a sports car's, complete with metallic trim pieces and a center stack that is angled toward the driver. Overall, the controls are easy to use, but some are put behind the gear selector and so are difficult to reach. The infotainment system is overall pretty easy to navigate. The only real drawback is the location of the control knob the driver must use. It is mounted to the dash instead of the center console, while makes operating the system while driving incredibly difficult. Taller drivers will find that they have plenty of space, but the rear seat is cramped for anyone who is of above average height or weight, thanks in part to about six inches less legroom than what the front occupants enjoy. The cargo area is also pretty tight, with 16.7 cubic feet behind the rear seats, but folding down the second row expands the cargo area to a decent 48 cubic feet.
