What's New for 2024

The Audi S4 offers three distinct levels of standard equipment: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige.

Premium

The S4 Premium starts at $54,500, and includes all-wheel drive, 19-inch wheels, automatic LED lights, a sport-tuned suspension, rain-sensing wipers, and a suite of driver-assistance technologies. The interior is equally impressive, with leather upholstery, heated front seats, keyless entry/ignition, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, and more.

Premium Plus

For $57,500, the Premium Plus adds a digital gauge cluster, wireless smartphone charging, and blind-spot monitoring, among other features.

Prestige

Finally, the Prestige, priced at $61,800, offers a navigation system, heated rear seats, and a heads-up display for the ultimate in luxury.

In the S4's cabin, there is a subdued feel due to the black or gray leather seats, aluminum trim, and a marked lack of glitziness. The color and material choices of the interior create an understated vibe compared to its rivals. Some may appreciate the sober and elegant look, while others might find it unexciting.

Standard all-wheel drive, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and optional heated rear seats make the S4 an excellent option for colder climates.

While the cabin offers ample passenger space, taller adults may find the rear legroom somewhat restrictive. The trunk's 13 cubic feet capacity is average for its class, with split-folding back seats to add more space if needed. There is plenty of in-cabin storage, including small trays and bins for snacks, sunglasses, and smartphones.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) have yet to conduct testing on the 2024 Audi S4. It should be noted that high-performance sedans, such as the S4, are not typically evaluated by these organizations.

The S4 boasts standard lane-departure warning and forward-collision mitigation, with optional features including blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, a surround-view camera, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-keeping assist.

The 2024 Audi S4 is a few thousand dollars less than its key competitors, the BMW M340i and Mercedes-Benz AMG C 43. It weighs less, too, but the BMW and Mercedes make more power. The BMW is the most driver-focused and sharply tuned, but some will still miss the lack of steering feedback compared to older 3 Series models. The Mercedes-Benz is more luxurious and properly fast, delivering north of 400 hp, but it's also the most expensive of the group, ringing in at around $60,000. The Audi S4, however, strikes a perfect balance between sportiness and comfort in a discreet package, making it an ideal middle ground between its fellow German cars.
