What's New for 2020

The Audi S4 comes in three different trim levels, Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige.

The Premium model starts at $49,900 and comes equipped with LED headlights and taillights, rain-sensing wipers, a power sunroof, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Standard twelve-way power sport seats are wrapped in leather and Alcantara and feature multi-level heating and massage functions. New infotainment includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, a 10-speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

The Premium Plus comes in around $52,400. It adds proximity keyless entry, memory setting for driver seat and side mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic assist, rear USB ports, a digital gauge cluster, and a wireless phone charger.

The range-topping Prestige trim can be had at about $58,350 and comes with navigation, a 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, a head-up display, active lane keep assist, top-view camera, and adjustable LED interior ambient lighting.

The Audi S4 is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 that creates 349 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Every S4 comes on top of a quattro all-wheel-drive setup. Power is sent through an eight-speed automatic transmission that can be manually shifted via the gear selector or steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Audi claims this sends the S4 from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds. It gets an EPA-estimated 20/27/23 mpg city/highway/combined.

The Audi S4 has four-wheel disc brakes and a 15.3-gallon fuel tank.

Few automakers do interiors as well as Audi. The overall quality of the materials and the elegance of the design is excellent. The cabin is understated, with dark colors and limited buttons. Interior climate controls are still physical for quick access, everything else can be found on the touchscreen. The front cupholders are well placed and don’t get in the way of the armrest like on some competitors.

A racecar inspired flat-bottom steering wheel and well-bolstered seats help make the S4 feel performance-focused. Both standard and optional seating surfaces have a quality level that can be seen and felt.

Seating space is equivalent to major competitors. The trunk is a tad small for the segment.
