2018 Audi S7 Review

Overview
If you want a good blend of luxury with incredible performance, the Audi S7 is a compelling choice. Its attractive exterior and plush interior are deceptive since they do not let on about just how powerful and incredibly fast the car actually is. There are few other cars on the road that can equal the performance from the S7, except maybe some exotic two-seater supercars. But with the S7 you can reasonably haul three or four people along with a small amount of luggage for a weekend trip, everyone enjoying the extreme comforts of the interior.
Despite the S7’s extreme performance capabilities, the suspension that holds the car so well in hard cornering is also soft enough to not transfer the harshness of broken-up roads to all of the occupants. The car also achieves respectable fuel mileage estimates thanks to its cylinder deactivation technology that works so silently the driver is not even aware of the transition. In short, the Audi S7 is a refined and amazing vehicle well worth its asking price.
Impeccable interior quality; Smooth and powerful turbo V8; Fastback good looks
Lofty price; Fastback roof impacts rear headroom
The Audi S7 is a high-performance four-door luxury hatchback aimed at people who are looking for a practical, comfortable and exciting car to drive. Audi launched the S7 with the 2013 model year, meaning the car is in its first generation of production.

Trims and Pricing
Audi only produces the S7 in the Prestige trim level. The standard equipment list is extensive, including a garage door opener, power sunroof, power hatchback, 19-inch wheels, adaptive xenon headlights, adaptive air suspension, keyless ignition and entry, heated and auto dimming side mirrors, park assist, rearview camera, Audi Drive select, diamond stitched leather upholstery, real ash wood interior accents, powered tilt and telescoping steering wheel, four zone automatic climate control, navigation, Bluetooth, Audi Connect Internet integration and a Bose sound system with HD radio, a USB and iPod plug and a CD/DVD player.
Optional equipment includes an Innovation package that comes with a lane departure warning and assist system, power folding side mirrors, adaptive cruise control, stop and go function, night vision assist, Audi Pre-Sense, head-up display and a side blind spot warning system. A Driver Assistance package comes with Audi Pre-Sense, side blind zone warning, adaptive cruise control and power folding side mirrors. The Comfort Seating package adds ventilated and massaging front seats, passenger seat memory functions and the deletion of the diamond stitching in the leather upholstery. The Cold Weather package adds a heated steering wheel and heated backseat.
Individual options include LED headlights, 20-inch wheels, rear seat side airbags and a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system.
An S7 comes with a factory invoice of about $81,000 for a Prestige model and an MSRP of about $86,000. Of course your local Certified Dealer will give you as a member an upfront price and savings, all in a no-hassle car buying experience.
Engine and Performance
Under the hood of the Audi S7 sits a 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 engine that pumps out 420 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. Audi only offers a dual-clutch seven speed automated manual transmission and all-wheel-drive.
The EPA estimates fuel economy for the S7 to be 17 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway and 20 mpg in combined driving thanks to the car’s cylinder deactivation technology.
Interior
Buyers have the ability to choose from several different leather upholstery colors and interior trim options such as carbon fiber, real ash wood and brushed aluminum. The overall interior design is clean, classic and simple, meaning there is not a sea of buttons in the center stack or center console. This means the driver does not have to fumble through a myriad of controls while driving, making it easier to use the various systems in the car while on the go. And of course the level of quality in the car’s interior is top-notch, as is to be expected with Audis lately. As a result all occupants will feel like they are in the lap of luxury.
There is one issue with the car’s infotainment system. The dash-mounted knob that controls the system’s navigation is difficult to use because of its placement, but the upgraded system locates the control knob in the center console where it is much easier to use. And speaking of technology, the car comes with WiFi that is a handy feature when you are out on the open road and can’t find a hotspot nearby.
The level of comfort in the Audi S7 is wonderful, especially for the driver and front passenger. In the backseat there is limited headroom and the legroom is not quite as ample, making it better suited for smaller adults or children. Trunk space is adequate but not phenomenal, but the folding rear seatbacks help expand the cargo area if large items need to be transported.
