2021 Audi S7 Review

Overview
High-performance wrapped in practicality; All-wheel-drive provides tenacious grip; Elegant and tech-driven interior layout; Excellent cargo capacity
Not as quick as some competitors; Pricier than a comparable Audi S6 sedan; Sportback roofline impacts rear headroom
The Audi S7 is a stunning exhibit of the German manufacturer’s commitment to driving performance and technology. Equipped with a 444-hp turbocharged V6, it sprints to 60 mph faster than many sports cars while being far more practical. Audi includes Quattro all-wheel-drive for secure handling, and a concealed hatchback adds versatility under the coupe-like roofline. Inside, passengers are pampered by plush luxury and superb attention to detail.
What's New for 2021
Trims and Pricing
Audi builds the S7 in one hatchback body style the brand calls a Sportback. There are two trim levels to choose from: Premium Plus and Prestige.
Pricing starts at around $85,500 for the Premium Plus, featuring 21-inch wheels, performance tires, automatic LED headlamps, power-folding outside mirrors, a power liftgate, and parking sensors. Audi bundles in a suite of driver safety technology to help make every drive more relaxing and accident-free. Forward-collision warning monitors for impending impact, and automatic emergency braking will step in if the driver does not react in time. There is also a standard surround-view camera for multiple angles, making getting in and out of tight spots a breeze.
Inside are a Bang & Olufsen surround-sound audio system, wireless smartphone charging, four zones of climate control, a heated steering wheel, premium leather upholstery, ambient lighting, a digital gauge cluster, and a dual-screen infotainment system.
The Prestige trim adds even more luxury, with dual-pane acoustic glass that keeps the cabin impressively tranquil at high speeds. Top=shelf leather envelopes the dashboard and armrests. You get advanced driver aids like lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control to let the vehicle accelerate, steer, and brake within its highway lane. Other amenities included in the $91,500 MSRP are soft-close doors, air filtration, heated rear seats, and a head-up display that projects vital driving data onto the windshield.
Audi offers shoppers several options, notably a Black Optic Package for a stealthier-looking exterior.
Engine and Performance
Interior
The S7 has a similar interior design to other top-flight Audi vehicles. Its cabin is sophisticated and elegant, covered in premium leather and metal. Audi’s attention to detail is superb, with seamlessly integrated technology that works well and looks opulent against the high-quality materials.
The cabin has comfortable seating in both rows, though taller passengers in the back may feel a bit snug due to the sloping roofline. That Sportback roof conceals a hatchback cargo area behind the passenger compartment, providing a large space for storing bulky items or enough luggage for extended getaways.
The S7’s dual-screen infotainment system is one of the most advanced in the segment, with nearly every vehicle setting adjustable with a few flicks of the finger. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration provide direct smartphone connections.
