2018 Audi SQ5 Review

Overview
If you want a small crossover that can maneuver crowded city streets with ease, plus you have the need for speed, the Audi SQ5 is definitely worth the look. Like other Audis, the crossover feel like it is bolted to the road, making driving on twisting roads a joy. The engine pulls strong through each gear, with the supercharger providing plenty of low-end power to get you going in a hurry. At the same time, the interior is one of the best in the industry, as is the case with Audi models lately, providing the full package deal that is compelling, to say the least.
Top competing vehicles are the BMW X5, Mercedes M-Class, and Porsche Cayenne.
The Audi SQ5 is a compact crossover SUV aimed at people who are looking for a blend of luxury and performance. The SQ5, which is the performance version of the Q5, is a new model for 2014. Competing vehicles include the Mercedes M-Class, BMW X5, Porsche Cayenne, and Infiniti QX70.
What's New for 2018
Trims and Pricing
Audi makes the SQ5 in a single, well-appointed trim. Standard features include tri-zone automatic climate control, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel, power windows, panoramic sunroof, black headliner, cargo cover, automatic dimming rearview mirror, electromechanical parking brake, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, keyless ignition and entry, tire pressure monitoring, leather and Alcantara seats, power adjustable and heated front seats, driver memory settings, and a sound system with ten speakers, satellite radio, CD player and MP3 playback. An SQ5 comes with a factory invoice of about $51,000 and an MSRP of about $54,000. Of course as a member you can always expect your Certified Dealer will give you an upfront price that includes savings, all without any hassle in your car buying experience.
Engine and Performance
Powering the SQ5 is a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that pushes out 354 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque. The engine works with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which sends the power to all four wheels via the Quattro all-wheel drive system. Audi claims a top speed of 155 mph and a 0 to 60 acceleration time of 5.1 seconds. The EPA estimates fuel mileage at 16 mpg in the city, 23 mpg on the highway and 19 mpg combined.
Interior
Buyers can choose between either a dark or light color scheme, both of which look sophisticated. The overall design of the interior looks like a regular Q5, with a simple layout for controls and gauges and the color display mounted at the top of the center stack. The SQ5 also comes with aluminum pedals with rubber grips on them, a racing-inspired flat bottom steering wheel and other sporty design touches. The seats are incredibly comfortable and adjust in a number of different directions. Room on the front row is excellent for a smaller vehicle, although the second row isn't quite as spacious and so would be cramped for taller adults. Cargo space is on the low end of average, with the sleek exterior shape cutting into the usable interior space. There are plenty of electronic aids to keep the driver on course. The main one is the infotainment system with the color screen. The system is easily navigated, but it's a good idea for drivers new to the vehicle to get to know how to navigate the system before they start driving. Carbon fiber and Alcantara are used throughout the cabin. Audi includes usable cupholders and little storage compartments throughout the interior, making the SQ5 quite livable.
