Engine and Performance
Under the hood of the 740i sedan is a 3.0-literTwinPower turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine. It puts out 320 horsepower and 330 lb.-ft. of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard, with a manual shifting mode that requires the use of the paddle shifters. Rear-wheel drive is also included. The 750i uses the more powerful 4.4-liter TwinPower twin-turbocharged V-8, which thunders out 445 horsepower and 480 lb.-ft. of torque. It's mated to the same eight-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is also standard. The 750i xDrive has the same setup, but with all-wheel drive.
Interior
Buyers can get a wide variety of interior colors, trim materials and other personalizations for the 7 Series. The overall look and feel of the cabin is modern and incredibly cozy, thanks to quilted leather, rich wood inlays and real metal. Thanks to excellent build quality, the interior is incredibly quiet and feels solid, which is something to expect in this market segment. Drivers are presented with a fairly clean dash layout. The upper half has digital displays, feeding essential information. The dial and touchpad in the center console allow the driver to navigate the iDrive system, which is actually pretty easy to learn and use. On the lower half of the dash are essential physical controls, which are well-labeled and grouped logically so they're easy to locate. Space is in high supply for both rows of seating. All of the seats are well-contoured and highly padded, making the 7 Series interior a place to stay for hours. With the latest technologies, drivers and passengers stay entertained and happy, even in heavy traffic.
