What's New for 2019
Trims and Pricing
Cadillac makes the XTS in four different trim levels: base, Luxury Collection, Premium Collection and Platinum Collection. Base models come with a variety of standard features like keyless ignition and entry, 19-inch wheels, adaptive suspension, dual-zone automatic climate control, xenon headlights, heated side mirrors, rear parking sensors, power adjustable front seats, Bluetooth connectivity, power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, leather and faux suede upholstery, 8-inch infotainment screen, OnStar emergency response system and a Bose surround sound system with eight speakers, CD player, satellite radio, iPod/USB connectivity, HD radio and an auxiliary input jack. Luxury Collection models come with the same standard features plus a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, driver’s memory settings, heated rear seats, ambient interior lighting, backup camera, front and rear parking sensors and rain-sensing wipers. Premium Collection models add to the features found on the Luxury Collection with a head-up display, tri-zone automatic climate control, adaptive headlights, 110-volt power outlet, voice controls, navigation, blind spot warning system, rear cross traffic alert, front collision alert, lane departure alert and a Bose surround sound system with fourteen speakers. Top-of-the-line Platinum Collection models further increase the standard features with power rear shade, sunroof, 20-inch wheels, unique exterior trim and increased interior leather trim. Both Premium and Platinum Collection vehicles can be had with an optional Driver Assist package that bundles adaptive cruise control and low-speed automatic braking together. An XTS comes with a factory invoice of about $44,000 for a base model and an MSRP of about $45,000. The Luxury trim level adds about $4,500 to the vehicle’s MSRP while the Premium tacks on another $5,000. Platinum models add another $5,000 to the MSRP. As a member you can expect for you Certified Dealer an upfront price on your vehicle that also includes savings, all without any kind of a hassle.
Engine and Performance
Powering the Cadillac XTS is a 3.6-liter V6 engine. Power output tops out at 304 horsepower and 264 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel-drive and a six-speed automatic transmission are standard equipment. Buyers can opt for all-wheel-drive, which adds an “XTS4” badge to the car’s exterior. The EPA has estimated fuel economy for a front-wheel-drive XTS to be 17 mpg for driving in the city, 28 mpg for driving on the highway and 21 mpg in combined city and highway driving. Adding all-wheel-drive lowers those estimates to 17 mpg in the city, 26 mpg on the highway and 20 mpg combined.
Interior
Buyers get to choose between dark grey, light grey or tan seats, while the interior trim pieces come in a stylish two-tone setup that uses the seat color and black. The interior’s overall design is conservative and upscale, with Cadillac having foregone the edgy, angular designs it has employed in its other vehicles’ interiors. All surfaces are covered in soft-touch materials that are highly texturized as well, including leather and wood-grain trim pieces. The front seats are contoured for comfort and the backseat is reasonably comfortable as well. Occupant space is excellent in the front, with even the tallest drivers and passengers enjoying enough space. In the rear legroom and headroom are surprisingly ample. Trunk space is anything but limited with 18 cubic feet of cargo space to swallow up luggage or anything else you need to transport. The CUE infotainment system’s touchscreen presents one of the most modern systems found in mainstream cars today. Users will notice that it functions like many smartphones with tapping, swiping and pinching fingers on the screen to perform various functions. You can even rearrange the icons in different menus to make it easier to find what you need while you are on the go. The system also produces a slight vibration when your fingers touch different buttons, such as when you changed the interior temperature settings.
