Trims and Pricing
You can get the Chevrolet Malibu in five trims: L, LS, RS, LT, and Premier. The L comes with an impressive array of equipment such as daytime running lights, automatic headlights, power-adjustable side mirrors, 16-inch steel wheels, 6 speakers, AM/FM radio, air conditioning, front bucket seats, front carpeted floor mats, cruise control, and power windows. The L starts around $22,000. Upgrading to the LS, the sedan comes with the content of the L but adds an acoustic laminated front windshield, outside temperature display, teen driver technology, and vanity mirrors for both front seats. The LS trim starts around $23,000. The Malibu RS offers a more sporty appearance with an all-black grille, 18” alloy wheel, dual exhaust outlets, and black badging set it apart. For the additional content, the RS trim starts around $24,000. The Malibu LT comes standard with LED daytime running lights, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signal, 17-inch aluminum wheels, satellite radio, and driver express-up window. The LT trim starts around $26,600. With the Premier trim, the Malibu features 18-inch aluminum wheels, navigation for the infotainment system, a Bose premium 9-speaker sound system, charging-only USB ports, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, 4.2-inch color driver information screen, 120-volt power outlet, remote start, and leather-wrapped shift knob. The Premier trim also features the 2.0L turbocharged engine and has a starting price of around $33,000.
Engine and Performance
Interior
The interior color scheme for the Chevrolet Malibu depends on what trim you choose. You can get a Jet Black layout or a nice two-tone with Dark Atmosphere/Ash Gray. Cabin materials are of a higher quality than you might expect in a Malibu, which combines with excellent craftsmanship for an air of premium quality not present in many competitors. Chevrolet sticks with a modern and simplified layout for the interior. That means a few physical controls. Those that do exist are easy to find and use. The large cabin makes this sedan quite comfortable for transporting four taller adults. While the center rear seat is narrow, the others are quite accommodating and well-padded, making the Malibu ideal for long drives. Trunk space is on the higher end of average for a midsize sedan.
