Overview

The Ferrari F8 is one of the most exclusive and expensive sports cars on the market, a beautiful work of engineering with hand-finished touches and the most illustrious lineage in its class. Few pleasures match a V8-powered Ferrari, and the drop-top Spider only enhances the euphoria. The F8 is as good as it gets as a performance vehicle, with seemingly endless abilities dynamically. It's clear Ferrari has injected its not-inconsiderable wisdom into crafting the F8. There are downsides to such gravitas, though. Ferrari is famously particular about their clients, often only allowing shoppers to purchase a vehicle if the Italian manufacturer has first sent them an invite to do so. The F8 has other specificities, such as a low ride height that makes it susceptible to expensive bumps in the road. Ferrari's range of available driver-assistance tech doesn't hold a candle to more civilized German rivals. Still, the F8 is as good a driver's car as one can buy, even with so many excellent competitors.

Tributo

The F8 Tributo is priced at $280,000. Standard features include carbon-ceramic brakes, a driver-adjustable suspension, 20-inch forged alloy wheels, summer tires, an alarm, rain-sensing wipers, automatic LED headlights, parking sensors, a backup camera, power-folding mirrors, leather/Alcantara sport seats, dual-zone climate control, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, carbon-fiber inlays, adaptive steering, a six-speaker audio system with 30 GB of built-in storage, Apple CarPlay, navigation, and Bluetooth.

Spider

The gorgeous Spider Convertible rings in at $324,342. It takes the Tributo's standard amenities and adds a retracting hardtop for open-air driving bliss.

Engine and Performance

The beating heart of the 2023 Ferrari F8 is one of the most potent engines the Italian brand has ever built, a twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 generating an immense 711 horsepower and 567 pound-feet of torque. Like the F1 cars it's based on, the F8 employs a dual-clutch transmission, which can operate in automatic or manual mode. Paddle shifters sit behind the carbon fiber and leather steering wheel. Despite all that horsepower, the F8 still gets an EPA-estimated 15 mpg in city driving and 19 mpg on the highway.

Interior

The F8's cabin has the fit and finish of a fine Italian suit. Aromatic leather and synthetic suede pamper the driver and passenger with the feeling of a custom fit. The interior is comfortable but offers minimal storage, but this vehicle is meant for spirited driving and carefree getaways, not long-distance cruising. The F8's state-of-the-art dashboard features cylindrical air vents, a race-inspired steering wheel, and an analog tachometer framed by digital readouts displaying navigation, Apple CarPlay, and real-time vehicle data.
