2020 Honda Fit Review

Overview
Great fuel economy; Refined and airy cabin; Available driver safety aids
Some rivals are more fun to drive
The Honda Fit brings rare levels of comfort and versatility to the subcompact car category. A four-door hatchback with available driver safety features and a versatile fold-up back seat, the Fit is an excellent choice for people looking for a simple, smart, efficient car. Its interior is surprisingly spacious for its micro proportions, and the Fit offers reasonably sporty handling.

Trims and Pricing
There are four available trims: LX, Sport, EX, and EX-L.
The entry-level LX starts at about $16,500. It delivers a lot of value for the money, with features like the second-row 60/40-split Magic Seat, Bluetooth, a 5-inch display, a USB port, a multi-angle rearview camera, two-speed intermittent front windshield wipers, an intermittent rear wiper, remote keyless entry, air conditioning, cruise control, and power windows with auto-up/down driver’s window.
The Sport trim brings the price up to around $18,000. It comes with 16-inch black alloy wheels, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a front USB charging port, an upgraded audio system, HondaLink, a 7-inch touchscreen, satellite radio compatibility, fog lights, a front underbody spoiler, a rear diffuser, side underbody spoilers, a chrome exhaust finisher, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a leather shifter, and customizable feature settings.
For roughly $19,500, the EX adds many amenities. Most notable among them is Honda Sensing, a suite of driver safety assistance technologies like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, collision mitigation braking, and lane-keep assist. Other standard features include a one-touch power moonroof, auto high-beams, proximity keyless entry, variable intermittent windshield wipers, push-button start, sliding sun visors, cargo area tie-downs, and floor mats.
The top-tier EX-L model retails for about $21,000 and has leather upholstery, heated front seats, and heated power side mirrors.
Engine and Performance
The Honda Fit uses an inline four-cylinder engine that offers average performance and above-average fuel economy. It generates 128 horsepower and 113 pound-feet of torque.
Front-wheel-drive comes standard. A continuously variable transmission is standard on all trims; a six-speed manual is available on the LX and Sport.
The EPA estimates fuel economy of 33/40/36 mpg city/highway/combined for the base LX. The other trims should see 31/36/33 mpg. With a manual transmission, those numbers dip slightly, to 29/36/31 mpg.
