The Hyundai Accent is a subcompact sedan aimed at people who want an affordable and practical car. Hyundai launched the Accent back in 1995. Since then, it’s been through a considerable number of changes. The current fifth-generation launched with the 2018 model.
What's New for 2020
Trims and Pricing
Hyundai makes the Accent in three trims, called SE, SEL, and Limited. You get a fair number of standard features on the SE, including power-adjustable side mirrors, 15-inch steel wheels with covers, a 60/40 split-folding backseat, air conditioning, rear window defroster, cruise control, Bluetooth, power windows, power locks, a 5-inch color infotainment touchscreen, and a USB port.
With the SEL trim, you get even more. Among the additions are automatic headlights, 15-inch alloy wheels, heated side mirrors, a sliding armrest for the driver, exterior temperature display, voice recognition for answering phone calls, a 7-inch color infotainment touchscreen, SiriusXM satellite radio, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and dual USB charging ports.
The Limited comes loaded with foglights, projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, turn signals integrated into the side mirrors, power sunroof, 17-inch alloy wheels, premium cloth upholstery, front seat heaters, automatic temperature control for the cabin, an auto defogging system, proximity key, push-button ignition, and Blue Link service.
A new Accent comes with an MSRP of about $14,000. The SEL trim level adds about $2,500 to the vehicle’s MSRP and the Limited tacks on about another $2,000. When you visit your Certified Dealer, remember that your status as a member means you don’t have to endure any runaround. Instead, you get straightforward pricing on a vehicle and a guarantee of savings.
Engine and Performance
The Hyundai Accent uses a 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder engine producing 120 horsepower and 113 lb.-ft. of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard across the lineup.
The SE comes with a 6-speed manual transmission standard, with a CVT transmission as an optional extra. The SEL and Limited trims come standard with the fuel-efficient CVT transmission as standard boosting fuel economy.
