2020 Kia Sedona Review

Overview
Great standard features set; Refined and stylish interior; More cargo space than rivals; Low starting price
Fuel economy could be better; Hands-free liftgate only standard on the top trim
The Kia Sedona is a minivan for families who want a lot of features for a low price. The third generation debuted for 2015, and it received an exterior refresh in 2019. The Sedona provides a more stylish interior than many in its category. The gutsy V6 engine offers plenty of passing power and 3,500 pounds of towing capacity. The Kia Sedona underscores its value with one of the most comprehensive warranties in the business.
What's New for 2020
Trims and Pricing
There are four trim levels: L, LX, EX, and SX. The entry-level L starts around $28,000 and includes key features like cloth seating for seven, automatic headlights, power side mirrors, a fold-away third-row, proximity keyless entry, front and rear climate control, Bluetooth, a seven-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 10-year/100,000-mile drivetrain warranty.
For about $30,500, the LX adds amenities like seating for eight and a power driver’s seat.
The EX trim retails for about $34,000, and it benefits from leather upholstery, 18-inch wheels, active blind-spot warning, heated front seats, keyless ignition, and satellite radio.
The top-of-the-line SX costs roughly $41,500 and gets a lane-keep assist system, driver’s seat memory, heated and cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a Harman Kardon audio system, navigation, heated power-folding mirrors, a power moonroof, a hands-free power liftgate, and a larger infotainment touchscreen.
Engine and Performance
Interior
Buyers can choose a few options for upholstery and accent color for the interior. The overall layout of the interior is modern yet conservative, with Kia keeping it refreshingly simple. The controls are well-spaced and organized, making them easy to use. The same can be said of the gauge cluster and infotainment screen. Touches like a full console between the front seats and the shifter located in the console help give the vehicle a more crossover feel, making it different from other minivans. Materials are of surprisingly high quality, just like in other Kia vehicles. Fit and finish is also a cut above some other mainstream brands.
There is plenty of space throughout the interior. Headroom and legroom are about on par with other minivans. Cargo space is 33.9 cubic feet, which is slightly above average. With the third row folded, the cargo area expands to 78.4 cubic feet, which is good but a tad less than rivals.
