What's New for 2025

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is available in three trim levels: SE, Dynamic SE and Autobiography. The Dynamic SE is a popular pick, but we'll explain below why we recommend the entry-level SE.

SE

The base SE is anything but basic. Priced at $85,175 (including a $1,475 destination fee), it comes with comprehensive standard features including 21-inch wheels, an adaptive air suspension, a panoramic sunroof, automatic dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, heated front seats, power-reclining heated rear seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, a 13.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a digital instrument panel.

Standard safety features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-keeping assist. Adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view camera, and automatic high beams are among the driver assistance features, while the ClearSight Ground View (shows terrain directly in front and under the vehicle) system and a wading-depth monitor highlight some of the off-road tech.

The Range Rover Sport SE offers ample power for most drivers and its standard features can be expanded with an equally impressive options menu. Unless you want the additional power, off-road extras or the optional new Stealth Pack offered on the Dynamic SE, we think the base model will suit most buyers. It's priced comparably to the Lexus LX 600, but a level above the Mercedes-Benz GLE and Porsche Cayenne. The higher trim Sport models are even more expensive, which might make a full-size Range Rover a more sensible option.

Dynamic SE

The Dynamic SE costs $92,275 and increases power output from the same engine as in the SE. You also get the Terrain Response 2 system to aid in off-roading, as well as copper accents on exterior and interior trim elements. For 2025, the Dynamic SE (and only the Dynamic SE) offers the optional Stealth Pack, which adds satin charcoal/black paint and protective coating, gloss-black exterior trim, black 23-inch wheels, and a choice of light or dark Windsor leather upholstery.

Autobiography

The Autobiography makes a big jump in price as well as propulsion. At $124,875, the Autobiography adds a plug-in hybrid drivetrain and a two-speed transfer case. Other standard features include 22-inch wheels, a contrasting black roof, soft-close doors, premium leather upholstery, massaging front seats, automatic quad-zone climate control, a head-up display, a virtual mirror, interior ambient lighting, a premium surround audio system, an automated parking system, all-wheel steering, the Dynamic Response Pro system for improved handling, and an electronic differential for better traction.

The 2025 Range Rover Sport SE is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine rated at 355 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels, and Land Rover estimates 0-60 mph acceleration in 5.7 seconds. That's quicker than the Lexus LX 600 (6.9 seconds) and comparable to the six-cylinder Mercedes-Benz GLE (5.4 seconds).

The Dynamic SE squeezes more power from the same engine (395 hp, 406 lb-ft of torque), dropping its 0-60 mph time to 5.4 seconds.

The Autobiography's plug-in hybrid system generates 543 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, and up to 51 miles of electric-only range. The abundance of low-end torque helps propel it from 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds.

The Range Rover Sport is as capable off-road as any other Land Rover, especially when equipped with an optional two-speed transfer case (standard on the Autobiography). The previous generation's on-road manners were already praiseworthy, and the new Range Rover Sport will surpass that. The standard air suspension has been upgraded for a more composed ride quality, and the Dynamic Response Pro system reduces body roll when cornering. At lower speeds, the all-wheel-steering system improves maneuverability in tight spaces.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) hasn't yet released fuel economy estimates for the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, but we expect them to mirror the 2024 model. The Range Rover Sport SE and Dynamic SE are EPA-rated at 21 mpg in combined city and highway driving, with the SE returning 18/24 mpg city/highway, and the Dynamic SE doing slightly better at 19/25 mpg city/highway.

That's comparable to the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4Matic, rated at 22 mpg combined (19/26 mpg), but better than the Porsche Cayenne and Lexus LX 600, both rated at 19 mpg combined and 17/22 mpg.

The Autobiography and its plug-in hybrid powertrain haven't been rated by the EPA yet, but Land Rover says it can travel up to 51 miles on electric-only charge. We found the plug-in hybrid can fully charge in about five hours on a Level 2 charger, or about 25 hours on a standard 110-volt household outlet. The Range Rover Sport is also one of the few PHEVs that can accept DC fast-charging, and can charge to 80% in less than an hour.

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport's interior is reminiscent of the older models, but current models use a single curved touchscreen instead of dual screens. Build quality is very sturdy, and materials remain top-notch. Adults fit comfortably in any seat and in the lower trims, buyers can add heated and ventilated seats for front and rear passengers. Top trims add massage functions to reduce fatigue on long drives, and a new noise cancellation feature keeps the cabin impressively quiet, even at highway speeds.

Generous cargo space includes 31.9 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats, expanding to 53 cubic feet with the seats folded. An optional hands-free powered liftgate eases loading, while a cargo partition helps keep everything in place. Still, the Porsche Cayenne offers more space (60.3 cubic feet with rear seats folded), and the Mercedes-Benz GLE (74.9 cubic feet) and Lexus LX 600 (71 cubic feet) are cavernous by comparison.

The 2025 Range Rover Sport gets a 13.1-inch curved infotainment touchscreen that operates with large tiles and an intuitive design. Wireless phone integration through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto is standard, as is a wireless charging pad. An available Wi-Fi hotspot will help keep those devices connected. In addition to a dizzying array of off-road apps, the ClearSight Ground View feature is helpful when navigating challenging terrain. It shows a live camera view of obstacles directly in front of and underneath the vehicle, helping to eliminate the need for a spotter in tricky terrain.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE, Lexus LX 600, and Porsche Cayenne all come with 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreens.

Neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) have crash-tested the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport.

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport stands apart from the Mercedes-Benz GLE, Porsche Cayenne, and BMW X5 by combining high luxury with muscular off-road ability. With the exception of the Lexus LX 600 and Mercedes-Benz G-Class, few others can claim the same. Granted, the majority of Range Rover Sports will see nothing more arduous than a light scramble to the head of a hiking trail, but all-terrain ability is baked into the recipe and remains a key part of the Rover's appeal.
