Mercedes-Benz's AMG GT four-door coupe boasts three distinct trim levels - GT 43, GT 53, and GT 63.

AMG GT 43

The AMG GT 43, priced at $98,950 with a $1,150 destination charge, packs a 362-horsepower six-cylinder engine and an exceptional array of features that make it an exceedingly luxurious car apart from its performance. It incorporates racing-inspired components such as a limited-slip differential, an adaptive suspension, and a high-performance exhaust, and also features advanced driver-assistance amenities, curve-adaptive headlights, rain-sensing wipers, a power sunroof, a motion-activated trunk, auto parking assistance, premium synthetic interior, heated front seats, multi-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a Burmester audio system, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Prospective buyers have the option of customizing their car with additional features like a carbon-fiber roof, massaging front seats, racing-performance tires, colored seat belts, acoustic glass, a surround-sound system, and exotic wood trims.

AMG GT 53

The AMG GT 53, priced at $109,450, includes a 429-horsepower engine.

AMG GT 63

The AMG GT 63, priced at $153,350, offers a whopping 577-horsepower engine and additional amenities like air suspension, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.

The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is the German automaker's ultimate sports sedan, providing one of the most exhilarating driving experiences on the road. The AMG GT 43 sedan comes with a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine producing 362 horsepower, while the GT 53 boasts 429 horsepower. Stepping up to the GT 63 brings a turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 making 577 hp. All models have standard all-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Of course, despite its genuine sportiness, the AMG GT is still every bit a Mercedes-Benz, and each powertrain is smooth and refined. This blend of attributes makes the AMG GT a great daily driver that can also let loose.

Boasting a bright 12.3-inch touch display and an outstanding interface, the AMG GT's infotainment system is equipped with a voice-activated assistant capable of controlling multiple functions such as navigation, climate control, and music selection. The same functionality is also available through a touchpad situated ahead of the gear selector. The MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) software is class-leading, intuitive and responsive.

The vehicle is equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as navigation, providing ease of use for tech-savvy drivers. The Burmester surround-sound system with 14 speakers offers exceptional audio quality, especially for music enthusiasts. For those willing to splurge, the optional Burmester 3D audio system is an impressive choice, featuring 25 high-performance speakers, a trunk-mounted active subwoofer, and speaker units embedded in the ceiling liner, producing an impressive total system output of 1,450 watts.

Neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) have assessed the 2024 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT.

Standard safety and driver-assist technology include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, a surround-view camera, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, auto parking assist, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and front and rear parking sensors. Optional technology includes traffic sign recognition, advanced emergency stopping aids, rear-end collision protection, adaptive cruise control, evasive steering, active blind-spot aids, speed limit assists, lane-keeping assist, and route-based speed adaptation. These features (and others) are part of the Driver Assistance Package, which costs $1,950.

There are several Teutonic super-sedans on the market now. The Audi S7 is a formidable contender to the AMG GT with its lower starting price and additional cargo space. Its sibling, the Audi RS 7, offers more power than the AMG GT, albeit at a higher price. On the other hand, the BMW M8 feels more bespoke, but it falls short in terms of interior space compared to the AMG GT. The Porsche Panamera stands out as the racecar of the pack, but it comes with the highest price tag, especially in its highest-horsepower versions.
