Trims and Pricing
Mercedes-Benz offers customers 22 styles to choose from, giving them a range of body lengths, roof heights, and engines to meet their needs. The Sprinter comes standard with rear-wheel drive, though four-wheel drive is available for those needing genuine off-road abilities. These great options for configuration, plus the Sprinter's versatile interior, have made it a favorite among those in different business trades and recreational vehicle shoppers.
Pricing ranges from around $41,500-$65,500, depending on the trim level and body style. The Sprinter Crew van's heavy-duty platform includes seating for five, plus keyless start, dual USB charging sockets, shift paddles, a backup camera, automatic headlamps, power heated mirrors, cloth upholstery, a removable second-row, air conditioning for each row, a 5-speaker sound system, and Bluetooth.
Several options are available to help customers customize the Sprinter to their needs, like power front seats, a power-sliding door, lightweight plastic flooring, an alarm, automatic climate control, and more. Mercedes-Benz offers a suite of advanced driver safety aids to help the van avoid collisions and keep everyone safe. An MBUX infotainment system is also available, giving the Sprinter more multimedia options for long trips, with things like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Engine and Performance
The Sprinter Crew Van is offered with a choice of three engines -- two diesel and one gas.
The base engine is a gas-powered 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo producing 188 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, with paddle shifters for manual operation.
Stepping up to the midrange 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo-diesel gives the van more low-end power, with 161 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. It is also more fuel-efficient than the gas model. Both diesel engines use a 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
Mercedes-Benz also offers a 3.0-liter V6 turbo-diesel producing 188 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. Though it's pricey, it gives the Sprinter quicker acceleration and the most hauling strength.
The Sprinter can tow up to 7,500 lbs when properly equipped, giving it a similar strength to a midsize pickup truck. It has a maximum payload capacity of 5,320 lbs.
