The Nissan NV200 is available in two trim levels: S and SV.

The base S trim starts around $23,000 and comes with an economical four-cylinder engine, 15-inch steel wheels, black side mirrors with blind-spot mirror, a compact spare tire, a back-up camera, 40/60 split rear cargo doors, dual sliding doors, variable intermittent windshield wipers, daytime running lights, cloth seating, power windows, power door locks, satellite radio, an auxiliary input, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a seven-inch touchscreen.

For about $24,000, the SV adds heated power side mirrors, body-colored rear bumper, silver wheel covers, power driver lumbar support, remote keyless entry, and cruise control.

Engine and Performance

The Nissan NV200 Compact Cargo is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 131 horsepower and 139 pound-feet of torque. The engine meets emissions standards in all 50 states and uses CVTCS, which is a Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System that improves the efficiency of the engine. It also uses the Nissan Direct Ignition System, which has the same goal. The power gets to the ground through a continuously variable transmission. The powertrain has a 5 year/100,000 mile warranty.

Interior

The cabin is simple and refined, with a black and grey color scheme. The passenger seat folds down to make a mobile desk. The center stack is easy to use, with a seven-inch touchscreen, HVAC dials, and a console-mounted shifter. USB ports are close to the floor, which can make them somewhat difficult to access if stored items get in the way.

The cargo hold has a flat floor that can carry items up to 82.8 inches long. It can haul a 40-inch by 48-inch pallet. There are wall-mounted and floor-mounted D-rings that help secure all kinds of things. The NV200 offers multiple upfits for different businesses.

The Nissan also offers an under-seat storage drawer and locking center console.

This compact cargo van is only 11 inches longer than my old 2001 Honda Civic and actually has 159 pounds less curb weight but can carry 652 pounds more cargo more conveniently. I should've had a compact cargo van all along instead of a passenger car. I trust Nissan more than I trust Ford. Honda and Toyota don't make compact cargo vans or I would've consider those manufacturers ahead of Nissan. I owned a Nissan Sentra once. The Honda Civic was a much better car. We need to convert to all electric vehicles ASAP. Perhaps we could swap in an electric engine some day along with a battery.
