2019 Nissan Pathfinder Review

Overview
Strong and smooth V6; Configurable interior; Stout towing capacity
Dated platform; Lacks some cutting-edge tech
The Nissan Pathfinder is a three-row SUV aimed at those looking for a spacious, capable family vehicle. The Pathfinder is available with 4-wheel drive, making it an excellent off-road companion. It is available in four trims, including the top-shelf Platinum model that feels upmarket. The Pathfinder has been around since the mid-eighties, and as of 2013 it’s now in its fourth generation.
What's New for 2019
Trims and Pricing
The Pathfinder comes in four trim levels: S, SV, SL, and Platinum.
The Pathfinder S trim starts around $31,500 and comes with tri-zone climate control, automatic emergency braking, fold-flat second-row bench seat, fold-flat and reclining third-row, and satellite radio.
The SV retails for about $34,500 and adds fog lights, remote engine start, adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert.
The upmarket SL costs around $38,000 and it gets LED headlights, hands-free liftgate, surround-view camera system, leather upholstery, and heated front seats.
The Platinum is the top-of-the-line Pathfinder. It has a roughly $43,000 starting price, which includes a panoramic sunroof, tow hitch receiver, heated and cooled front seats, 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, and 13-speaker Bose premium audio system.
Engine and Performance
Interior
The Pathfinder’s interior comes in either charcoal or almond. Cloth or leather upholstery are available. The front and second-row seats are comfortable and spacious. It’s easy to get to the third row, though space is a little snug.
The dash layout hasn’t changed much since the 2013 redesign, but it still feels modern and upmarket. The center stack has many buttons, allowing quick access to most controls.
