2018 Toyota Corolla iM Review

Overview
The iM follows in the tradition of many Toyota cars, providing excellent reliability at a low price while still providing a decent number of features. It's not the most well-appointed car in its class, yet the iM operates smoothly and is good enough that anyone who's looking for an affordable yet reliable mode of transportation with some comforts should give it a good look. Top competing vehicles are the Ford Focus, Chevrolet Sonic and Volkswagen Golf.
The Toyota Corolla iM is a compact four-door hatchback that's aimed at people who want a practical yet fun car. The iM was introduced for the 2016 model year as a Scion, but after Scion shut down the iM became a part of the parent company. Competing vehicles include the Ford Focus, Chevrolet Sonic, Volkswagen Golf, Mazda 3 and Hyundai Elantra.

Trims and Pricing
Toyota offers the iM in a single trim level. Among the standard equipment are 17-inch alloy wheels, a rearview camera, LED taillights and LED daytime running lights. The interior comes with dual-zone automatic climate control and 8 airbags. A Pioneer Standard Display sound system is also included, which has a 7-inch touchscreen for easy navigation. The Bluetooth system allows for making wireless phone calls, as well as streaming audio from smartphones. A few standalone options are available. The interior light kit allows drivers to switch the interior light colors, with a total of 7 different options. Also available is a Bespoke sound system with navigation, which provides dynamic maps with route overlays and even turn-by-turn directions. Users can even leverage voice controls for finding directions without taking their hands off the steering wheel. The iM comes with a factory invoice of about $17,361 for the manual and $18,045 for the CVT, with MSRPs of about $18,750 and $19,490, respectively. With your status as a member, you can go to a Certified Dealer and be treated professionally, even getting a clear price quote that actually saves you money.
Engine and Performance
Interior
Toyota keeps things simple for the iM's powertrain, complete with a refreshingly spartan layout. Instead of cramming too many buttons on the steering wheel and center stack, drivers have at their fingertips only the most commonly-used controls, which are large and intuitively laid out. The infotainment touchscreen is positioned at a good level, making it simple to reference and use on the go. Even the gauge cluster has a proven layout, with two analog gauges on each side and a simple digital screen in the middle. The interior has a black color scheme, with some silver accents to break things up. While everything is put together well enough for the iM's class, many of the surfaces are hard to the touch and lack texture, even when compared to similar vehicles.
