For $53,990, it includes a 9.3-inch vertical touchscreen, navigation, wireless charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, USB ports in both rows, leather seating, and heated front seats. Other tech amenities are remote engine start, dual-zone climate control, curve-adaptive LED headlamps, fog lights, power-folding mirrors, a hands-free liftgate, and a panoramic moonroof.

Volvo has long been known for its advancements in safety tech. The XC40 Recharge comes with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and pedestrian detection.

Options include heated rear seats, adaptive cruise control, and a premium audio system.

Engine and Performance

The Volvo XC40 Recharge is powered by a dual-motor electric powertrain making 402 hp and 486 lb-ft of torque. This setup gives the small SUV instant torque and quick acceleration, and all-wheel drive delivers this power to the ground. The seats are trimmed in synthetic suede with leather bolsters. Outward visibility is quite good. The in-cabin tech is very intuitive, from the infotainment system to the driver-assistance features. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included to seamlessly connect a smartphone and access navigation, music streaming, and other applications.

The Volvo XC40 Recharge is the most well-thought-out, comfort driven, responsive car I have owned. The technology is first rate and the safety and construction of the car is solid quality. I have never been happier with a new car. I have owned Lincoln, Mercedes, BMW and other luxury brand cars, but this Volvo is the ONE.

cons

Lacks an auto-telescoping steering wheel. Not much on the down side at all. I LOVE MY VOLVO!!!
